Wild Writing

Every morning we will gather for our anchor practice of the week – Wild Writing! You don’t need to be an experienced writer to get the benefits of this practice. We believe that writing together not only makes us better writers, but it allows us to connect to ourselves and the circle in the most beautiful way.

Artisan excursions

We will travel out to the villages where artisans make gorgeous black pottery (signature to Oaxaca) as well as carved wooden animasl (alebrijes) and textiles galore. We will immerse ourselves in the world of beauty + artistry that is quintessentially Oaxacan. We also plan to get our hands dirty to make things too!

Natural dye

In Teotitlan del Valle are some of the most skilled and renowned artisans in textiles and natural dye techniques. We are so thrilled to bring our group to visit these artists and see how they use insects to create cochinilla dye, indigo and other plants and flowers to create a spectrum of color.

Feast

Oaxaca has some of the most beautiful and unique food on the planet – and we are excited to bring you on a food tour that will introduce you to the flavors of this extraordinary place.  We will also be gathering for several group meals at some of the extraordinary restaurants in town. Chapulines, oh my! Mole! yes, please!

Wonder walks

We will create a practice of wandering with our cameras in search of wonder. It is truly everywhere in Oaxaca and I’m so excited to share photo tips + prompts as we stroll and marvel at the color, the beauty and the magic. Cultivating a sense of wonder is good for our spirit and our overall well-being (it is the only emotion that literally reduces inflammation) Let’s begin our practice here.

Yoga

Every morning we will have optional yoga classes available for those of you who want to move their bodies to start the day.
